About Jintao Chen and this site

I am a sales engineer at XActant, which builds low-voltage DC servo drives and embedded servo drive cores. This site is where I keep the engineering notes I would otherwise repeat on customer calls — and where I publish them so that someone else searching for the same problem can find an answer that is not a brochure.

Why this site exists

Most of what is published about servo drives is either a datasheet or a brochure. Neither is very useful when you are trying to work out whether a drive is going to solve your specific motion problem. The useful information is usually the kind that only shows up after a few hundred conversations: which specification actually matters for your process, which published figure is being measured differently than you assume, and where a manufacturer will be straight with you about a limitation.

I write here because it is faster for everyone. If a note answers your question before a call, we both get something useful out of the day.

What I cover

What this site is not

It is not the official XActant website. I am an employee, not the owner of this property, and I am not authorised to publish prices, lead times or commercial terms here. Anything commercial goes through a quotation.

It does not replace a datasheet. The figures I quote come from published specifications, but the current revision of a manual always wins over anything I write.

It is not consultancy. I do not design machines for a fee. If you need a motion engineer, I will point you to one.

How to reach me

Email is the best channel — tao3340459784@gmail.com. WhatsApp (+86 18038325973) works for quick questions and for customers outside China. For a quotation, send me the motor model, the bus interface, the payload or stroke, and the axis count, and I will route it to the right desk and come back with a written answer.

The company behind the products

Registered information, qualifications, patent and software-copyright counts, and the full development history from the first servo drive in 2016 to the present — all from the public company record, so you can verify it independently.
